I can´t install jk2 Empty I can´t install jk2

Hello everybody!
It's a long time since I played JK2.
Here iam again?! cheers
So i´ve got a problem, if i try to install the game and it is finished and i started the game nothing happend. Suspect
I had the problem few years ago.I think its cause i´ve got a "new" graphics Card.(ASUS EAH4550 series)
But i want to play it so fuckin bad.. No
Can anyone help me, or did someone have the same problem?
I thought graphics card are backward-compatible. Question

Dear jesus, help me....please...before i throw my pc out of the window!

I did it, but i get the microsoft message "A problem has been detected and the application must be closed."
uhhm..dunno what i have to do...now im looking on ebay for a "new" old pc..
hope there is someone who can help me before i buy a oldtimer : S

What OS are you using? If you're using Vista try installing an additional one or run an additional Windows OS on a VM or Linux. Vista is the biggest crap load ever.

Have you tried running it as admin? Also try to run it in other windows like Suxes said.

Update your drivers by the way and Directx. Used to have problems with OpenGL the other day with games like Soldier of Fortune/ JK2. But atleast the console displayed this error when it occured. Gl

i am using a downloaded version of jk2 with power iso and i run it as admin, without running as admin on vista it will not work for me.

I use Windows XP.
I have updated my drivers and directX too.
I tried this OpenGL thing but it didnt work..

How can i start the game as an admin? o.O

Right-click jk2mp.exe and run as administrator. Gl. Are you even sure that the game data isnt corrupted? You said when you try to run the game nothing happens. Am I right? Or is there something more to add? Did the console window appear? Be more precise discribing what happens after you've launched the jk2mp. Is it the same case for jk2sp?

you cant on xp, however try this shich i found on another site
Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I got it running last night (with OC'ing intact. =) It turns out that for some reason the game would crash if I used JediOutcast.exe to start the game (the executable that the default shortcut points to) but if I started the game using jk2sp.exe (Single Player Game) or jk2mp.exe (Multi-Player Game) from the GameData folder it would run just fine.

Thanks again for your help and suggestions, if anyone else is having Jedi Knight II problems in XP, I would highly recommend trying the above method.

uhmm..
I tried to start the game with the .exe from the GameData and it didnt work.

@suxes

1. I started the application with a doubleclick.
2.The Menu is there
3.i tried to start the MP and later the SP too
4.First ive got a grey screen, then a white and then a black one..and in the middle of my monitor is the windows message.

If i start the MP or the SP i can see the console for a momment but i cant see a errormessage or something like that..

you are using the correct NO-CD exec right? you could try right clicking the exec, going into properties and messing around with the compatibility modes. for example mine is set to run on windows 2000 where my current OS is w7.
